What is it with these fucking umps that they call terrible strike calls every single Schwarber at bat??

Strike three was a mile inside.

Russell prevents runs when he plays IF, which counts. A lot of people only count runs scored, rather than those prevented, so they constantly undervalue good defenders and overvalue good offensive players who are poor defenders. It's a simple concept that many can't seem to grasp.

Yea that was good defense when he cut off Almora's throw headed for Baez to get the runner out. Brilliant display of defense there.

When someone asks what a player brings to the team, and that player has brought solid defense for his entire career to date, that answer is accurate.

It does not mean he never makes a mistake.

But reasonable fans understand that. You obviously do not.

You are only here to bitch and moan and post only when something goes wrong. The worst kind of "fan".

If he's going to hit for pure shit like he has been, his defensive mistakes will be magnified. Simple stuff man.

Gotta love the "simple stuff" crack.....anything coming from the brain of a simpleton is simple stuff.

Typically I’d agree. But this year that hasn’t been the case. Plenty of time to turn it around but as of now he’s been really meh

Tipped a foul ball into the catcher's glove, and it isn't held...and it costs us.

And how do the Cubs get him? Cubs basically have no trade pieces.
He is injured and he is a free agent next year.

So the price tag might not be as much as you would think.

IMO Russell and Happ would buy that rental and would be a complete over payment on the Cubs front.

But my quip was more towards signing him in the off season vs now. But if he returns I could see those 2 for Scooter and a BP lefty. Reds would get control of 2 players that might perform better in a smaller market. cu could negotiate a extension and end the lead off issue going forward.

LOL this bullpen. Go get a damn closer.
That is a reach. I'm honestly hoping Alozay posts another strong start and they do the smart thing and promote him.

They have a revolving door ATM. Just demoted Wick and promoted Norwood. Alozay has a good chance of sticking with his talent.

Saw this stat on Twitter. Don’t know if it’s accurate or not but the Cubs Bullpen is 9/20 on save chances this season.
