Quintana Hendricks Montgomery and Chatwood are going to pitch them all the way to another World Series Championship..

Dont you just feel it happening

Confidence meter has to be skyrocketing with them

Well. TBH I’m a bit worried about our history of not being able to hit in the cold weather with this group and the bullpen minus Morrow.
But Maddon is a post season genius, so why not, right.

I wouldn't fall in love with Monty too much as a SP..

He good for spot starts and emergency starts or maybe even a 5th starter but not one id count on in a playoff start..

He started out good then has struggled some his last 2 starts..

Cin 6 ip 6 hit 2 BB 4 ER

Min 5 ip. 7 hits 3 BB 3 ER

I’ll tell ya what I believe: they have not replaced Jake. Jake steps up on the big stage and plain wins. Jon you know what you have. Kyle gets sketchy around the 5th. Q can be jekyl or Hyde. Chatwood should not be on the roster. Montgomery has been outstanding. He closed out 2016 so he has done it. I’m not worried about him at all

That said they don’t have that Jake type. Just excels when you want it. Yu for the most part has not been that. He may become that but you can’t bank on it at this point.

I’m down with Fulmer. Sounds like LA D is aiming for either him or DeGromm. I would strike first and force LA to wreck their farm on DeGromm

Look at his starts only for 2018. He is up with Jon.

He is far exceeding my expectations

I am.
He made 7 starts

His first 5 starts were great..

Last 2 a bit of a struggle
11 ip 13 hits 5 BB 9 runs 7 ER

Just think we need to see how it plays out with him before we say he an answer for the postseason as a starter..

This it is part of the decision Management needs to make in the next week or so before the deadline passes..

Darvish health and ability to pitch well enough to be a top guy in postseason..

How much confidence they have in Monty to stay in rotation if needed in playoffs..

This will determine if and who they decide to trade for...

You have to look at his body of work. Every starter has a lemon. You measure by his avg

Im not gonna tell you your opinion is wrong, heck i hope it right..

The body of work tells me his first 5 starts were strong and very good..

The 2 starts after he was hit and scored on..

Cant go by average or say he just had 1bad start in the middle of good starts and call it a lemon..

First 5 starts very good

Next 2 not so good

All we can do now is see what he does afterwards..

We do agree though if he their number 2, then yes their in some trouble...

Why im saying their gonna have to make a decision soon on what direction their going to take this deadline..

Just look for a depth starter to bridge the gap til Darvish returns

Or

Hit a homerun and add another TOR type starter to be safe in case Darvish cant be that guy this year

Lester: 2.25 BAA: .218 WHIP: 1.15
Montg: 2.43 BAA: .207 WHIP: 1.06
Quinta: 4.22 BAA: .246 WHIP: 1.41
Hendri: 4.27 BAA: .251 WHIP: 1.25
Chatw: 4.54 BAA: .235 WHIP: 1.75

That is what I'm looking at mostly. Just shows if they are getting hit. Montgomery has been the best starter when it comes down to WHIP and keeping guys off base in general. Chatwood doesn't get hit as much as Q and Hendricks but you see his WHIP and it is all walks that is screwing him.

Hendricks is not fooling guys. .251 BAA is is heel.

I've always felt that Kyle has overachieved his talent and right now is where his talent should be at.

Now my main concern is lack of trade weight. They don't have the trade depth needed to pull off a trade that holds play off weight. Even Verlander cost 2 top 100 and Det sent over 8 mil. That just shows what it costs.
