I recommend you go view some of the spring training stuff when he was hitting like .150. The talk then was about how Happ had to play every day in CF.

How things change

I think fans can stop using that reasoning..

Kid has 100 PA against RH starters and is hitting .306 .355 OBP
.755 OPS..

I think he proven he can handle RHers

Fans are NOT using that reasoning.

Fans are expressing frustration that JOE uses that reasoning.

I don't recall seeing people calling for Happ in CF everyday.

Was that HERE?

Happ is not a CF. No matter what he's hitting, he should NEVER play CF.

I still hear it and read it, but yes it has diminished and has been more towards Maddon recently...

Some of it yes was here. I also remember a lot of talk early in the offseason about trading him because they had happ presumably ready to play CF. Now I tend to agree sort of with you that Happ is barely a CF. That is to say he can play there some what regularly but I'm not a huge fan of his defense.

Regardless, i really don't remember that many people excited to see Almora see large playing time in CF coming into the year. I do tend to remember you being in favor of him though as you always tend to be in favor of defense. But my memory is you were one of the few.

Almost wish that the Cubs could take a tour through the AL central for a month

I'll take your word about what was said about Almora in spring training. But over the last 1.5 years (the timeline you mentioned) people on this board were regularly calling for the guy to the play more.

3 and 4 against AL Central so far

To be fair they are 1-3 vs the only team in the central who has a positive run diff. This is what I mean by using that as a barometer. Cleveland is +19. St. Louis is also +19 and they have 3 fewer losses yet Cleveland still lost about 3% more games.
