I get Happ has to play sometimes but I won't buy that you have to platoon him with Almora vs some RHers..

Happ LH has 109 AB 25 H vs RHers

Almora RH has 128 AB 39 H vs RHers

So, sure Almora may have a bad game against some RHers but it not like Happ is doing any better hitting LH against them..

Happ just isn't hitting enough to justify starting him more..
He almost at 50% K with 70 in 147 AB

I dont think Schwarber was this bad when he was sent down last year

Too early to pull Kyle.

Bunt with him, Joe.

I love LaStella as a PH, but 4 innings from pen is a lot.

Not going to say Happ should never play, but no platoon is needed as Almora hits RH just fine.

Kyle has had some issues but he revently lost 2-1 with runs coming in 1st and 2nd. Now trails 1-0 with run in 1st.

Score some damn runs. Only runs in 14 innins were due to Marte’s slip. Loved that they cashed in. But long dry spell since.

Another SP only goes 5...

Have no clue why Hendricks not up there bunting with no outs and letting him get another inning in.. 86 pitches

Maddon uses up their best PH in the 5th and now has to get at least 4 innings out of pen..

Cubs bats letting a winnable game slip away by sleepwalking on a Sunday

Past 2 games he’s elected to have his best bunting SP’s, not bunt.

That Baez AB should land his ass on the bench. Watch he’ll hit a HR next AB.

Maddon is his own worse enemy sometimes...

I won't blame Joe for not knowing Duensing would be uncharacteristically bad, or for a great PH to hit into a DP. The lack of execution makes the decision look worse. But it was just a bad move to pull a starter after 5 in a situation where you could/should just have him bunt.

Seemed a bit panicky, though I understand it was a good opportunity for a good inning.

Now the game is over. Stupid move.

And I agree it looks like they're sleepwalking. Seems to happen a lot on Sundays.

They can't be expected to win them all, so it's not the end of the world. But this was a one run game and we panicked.

So much for moving ahead of the Brewers going into the 3 game set against them...

Brewers down 1 late

Maddon screwed up and bats slept in today...

And Happ being in was not a reason for the loss, but once again, we lose when AA doesn't start. :)

Cause Almoroa was the difference between winning and losing. Why Cub fans have such a bad reputation

Here another thing why that was a bad/questionable decision by Maddon no matter what LaStella did..

They have a 3 game series starting tomorrow with the Brewers and first place ...
Cubs have 3 starters in Quintana Montgomery and Chatwood that they'll be lucky to get 5 innings from..
So why use up any of the bullpen early today, even if it was just an inning early when there a great chance he gonna need to go to them early and often these next 3 days.

Baez really frustrates me. He's gotta be one of the weirdest players in baseball history. He'll make some plays that leave you amazed. And then you look at his current OBP as a 25 year old with 1500 PAs and it sits at .279 and you wanna pull out your hair. I'm not sure I have the right personality for the roller coaster of emotions he puts me through.
