Carl Edwards Jr. was activated from the 10-day disabled list in time for the Cubs' series opener against the Reds at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon.

Right-hander Dillon Maples was optioned to Triple-A Iowa, and left-hander Rob Zastryzny was activated from the DL and optioned to Iowa.

Bass
Farrell
(Bubble guys)

Strop
Rosario
Wilson

Cishek
Edwards

Morrow

We are pretty close to full now. Farrell and Butler are a wash in talent. Bass is just a rotational guy and holding for Duesing. Honestly they could address this with a trade but I really don't see the need right now.

hopefully be able to watch, for some strange reason Reds games are blacked at where I live. Despite being closer to Atlanta.

Third not so good outing in a row from monty after 5 good ones to start...

Why i said you shouldn't fall in love with him as a starter yet and why they might need to consider looking to make a trade for another SP..

Their SP right now outside of Lester is very questionable

Cubs offense should be averaging 6 runs a game, guy gives up 3 and its not so good?

5 ip 6 hits 3 BB 2 K 3 R to the reds, no it not so good...

Because were starting to see in these last 3 games of his that he starting to get tired with pitching every 5th day and more so, all the pitches he thrown..
It starting to catch up to him now..

Why i said not to get overly excited with him just yet..

Wind was blowing in. Cinci was just better at scrapping together some runs. Most runs were manufactured today.

What got me today is Theo flat out shutting down the rumor mill on pitching. He has far too much faith in these guys righting themselves.

The loss today. Well they did sweep last time.

Wouldn't it be better to play Happ in CF Heyward in RF Zobrist at 2B Baez at 3B

I *think* the reasoning is that with a groundballer on the mound you want your best up the middle defense with Russell/Baez.

I guess, if that what Chatwood supposed to be..lol

He was going to do this last week with Lester on the mound but changed it to the way i have it..
Maybe because he preferred having Baez arm and range at 3rd over Happ in case of bunts..

what context? its the Reds who are SUPPOSED to be bad this year? Well, they are not bad, best record in the national league since the 10th of june. They are 11 games over 500 their last 17 games. The games are not played with slide rules and protractors. Riggleman has them playing well, they are not a bad team.
