Just look at this list. Highest paid player in the league and his the least productive. Guy ruins us! How can we afford to put KEY pieces around Kane and actually build a team that can ACTUALLY LIFT THE CUP. Toews isn't gunna get us a cup. That's the fax. And hes taking up all our CAP SPACE. Imagine having these peoples on our team instead of Toews...Many for a fraction of the price...

Correction...

Brayden Point just scored his 25th goal of the season
Toews only has 17
Toews only 39 points, Point now 55
literally a scoring, hitting center.... something Toews will never be

We have no options.... Seabrook is also a giant cap anchor.

We just have to ride this out unfortunately.

Is this supposed to be some sort of breaking news to Hawk fans?

Maybe someone should start a thread telling us that Brent Seabrook is old and slow....

I know he has a hot girlfriend, but you surely had no shot with her.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtba...-2018-19-connor-mcdavid-on-top-at-19-million/

This is the current list. Toews 6th and Kane 8th now, even though they are supposed to have the same deal. The only defense to the organization is simply, the hawks thought there would be 15 players making more than them by now. Now that McDavid and Taveres are getting paid, maybe they start dropping on the list. Crosby could be demanding stupid money, but he isnt.

What kills us, imo...

is the loss of quality depth to pay Seabrook. That was the club killer. Followed by his steep decline, and Toews and Keith once played like top 100 all timers...ok...and now they aren't even all-stars. That is a big gap.

4 guys. Keith/Toews/Hossa/Hammer

Those 4 were great champions. Now we have 2 ghosts and 2 shadows.

I think Toews is playing well enough to be an all star. Top 5 in faceoff percentage, Keith is not even the highest paid d man on this team. Seabrooks contract should have gotten Bowmans sent out of town by now. Why has there not been any discussion for LTIR for Crow like they did Hossa?

NBC loves the hawks, its probably good business for the NHL to let them get Breadman back.

Toews may be good enough to be an all-star, but on a weak 'hawks team he's definitely 2nd banana to Kane. Plus, I'd probably vote Debincat over Toews. Either way Toews, Keith, etc. may be good enough to warrant being an all-star on this team, but how may players in the crntral are playing above their clip in their positions?

Crawford's contract is not a recapture, and it expires next season. It's possible (even if unlikely) he can come back and play next year. His actual salary is $5M (compared to Hossa's $1M) which would be incentive for him to not outright retire, and unlike Hossa he could outright retire without cap implications if he chooses to do so.
