Mole & Gopher solar spikes. I put them in around where i'll be planting sweet corn , watermellon, pumpkins and cantaloupe. Amazing no mole and gopher mounds or tunnels anywhere around by the garden. Im going back out to Menards to try the one they have for deer , damm deer are chewing the branches off my Apple trees i planted last fall.

I'm a bit of a cheap ass when it comes to shit (pun intended) like that. I never buy the name brand stuff so the stuff at work is usually better than what I have at home.
You're an animal.

Do they work for squirrels? Honest question because I am tired of trapping them.

Can you link to Amazon or Lowe's or something please!

You should get a pellet gun for the squirrels.

Will need to be a pretty strong pellet gun, they have a very tough hide. I've shot them without so much as flinch, though it wasn't the most powerful PG.

I just want them to go away, I'm happy to not kill them if there is an option for that.

The problem is that my neighbor feeds them and then they come burrow under my concrete slab.

If they're feeding them, they'll never go away.

25+ years ago I worked at a place and this guy had a pellet gun he brought in.
This thing was insane.
I cant remember the brand name... I think it may have been a girls name of all things... and he said it was german. (greman)

Spring loaded, where you pull back a lever on the side and shoot.
This thing would flatten a standard pellet on a brick wall from 100'.

...had to look it up online- Diana pellet gun. his was over 1600 fps with a 177 pellet.
that might travel through a couple squirrels.

Yep, Diana's are great, reliable guns and would be perfect for squirrels.

I trapped four of them last year. There are at least two more right now.

I'm going back to Trapsville soon.

I know someone that had a similar problem with critters under his deck, says mothballs fixed it.

It does work, but then your deck smells like mothballs. Tie a string around them so you can get them out after the critters have moved on.

Do you know how to smell mothballs? You just pull their little legs apart.

He had some mesh bags or something on pieces of twine to pull them out to refill as they eventually dissipate or if having deck beers.

Probably the lens that took the photo in my avatar: Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 VR. Thing has been versatile as hell from close-ups:

...to true 1:1 macro:

...and I've even press-ganged it into action shots--which is not it's intended use.

It's probably the one lens I always make sure I have on hand since invariably something comes along I can shoot with it.

We had a squirrel problem until we got Rango. He loved chasing them and do it all day but at least he didn't kill any. After the first year the squirrels moved on. So did the rabbits. The St Bernard would just watch and do nothing.
