I read those over too. Still kind of wacky to be "1st in pass rushing productivity' with only 3.5 sacks for the year. Seems like a disconnect somewhere.

Its because he doesn't rush the passer that often.

Mack is a generational exception, NOT the norm. Bears sure as shit can't pay for 2 Macks & have a SB tier roster overall.

So much wrong, but funny nonetheless. If Leonard Floyd 'blossoms' into Khalil Mack 2.0, then Pace sure as heck better find a way to retain Floyd's services, even if it means dumping someone like Allen Robinson or Prince Amukamura (or, God forbid, Kyle Long). Gimme a break. Its not like the Bears roster is just brimming with expensive veteran talent. They aren't even paying a QB.

As some previously mentioned he had the concussion his rookie year which doesn't seem to be a recurring issue and then the leg injury when (Fuller iirc) took him out. Give him a full season of being healthy and I can see him "breaking out" and ten sacks would not surprise me.

Groundhog day pre-new season start with Floyd. It's always "his year to shine", and he never does. Which isn't a problem for me. Great at what he does, but he isn't the type of PR we thought we were getting (or told we were getting).

Oh you can bet Robinson and Long will be gone if Floyd blossoms into another Mack. WR has a ton of young talent there and Long is our worst Lineman

Dipshits, Bear picking up 5th year which is a contract. Morons

No, it’s literally not a contract, you complete dipshit. If you need an attorney to tediously explain to you the difference between a contract and a unilateral exercise of an option, then I’d be happy to do that for you, but I charge $250 an hour.

That's kinda what I was insinuating. A smaller sample size is always discounted. I don't doubt he's a good pass rusher, but it's generally easier to make a play when the DC doesn't have much of a reason to game plan for it.

If it’s true he has added significant strength and muscle that will likely reduce the number of plays where he looks like a rag muffin.

The option to exercise Floyd's contract was already there. This isn't a new contract...its just picking up the extension. If you want to fault Pace for picking up the option, so be it.

The 5th year option is there but he can be cut after 2019 with no dead money saving the Bears 13 mil.

Lol, people still hyping Floyd? The only thing more unlikely than Floyd breaking out is a porn star finding God during a gangbang scene.

Good find and play on words. Still unlikely as hell for Floyd to turn it around like she did.

Also, always wondered what happened to Jenna Presley. Just another reason to not like God. She was good at what she did.

I hate it when when have to stop sexually exploiting women so they can feel better about their lives.

And I agree on Floyd.

Seems like she sexually exploited herself as did not read that she was forced into the industry where she made 3 million. But that is probably a topic for B&I.

By your logic you should side with the owners in the NFL, concussions et al, since the players know what they are getting into.....

(I'm keepin it football related)

Sure. If a player claimed they were forced to play football then I would call bullshit.

However players did not in fact know the long term risks of concussions because the NFL hid it.

So do not think you can just presume exploitation without specific allegations of exploitation backed with evidence. There was no evidence in the article that this woman was forced to enter the industry or exploited. The issues they did raise appeared to stem from her personal life ie shitty parents and boyfriends not her job.

Floyd will have more QB pressures than Dee Ford. Change my mind.

Leonard Floyd among young pass rushers set to break out in '19
(not exactly young...)

Leonard Floyd, LB, Chicago Bears

2019 projection: 11 sacks.

Floyd has logged fewer than five sacks in each of the last two seasons. Playing through a hand injury last season, he generated just 35 quarterback pressures, per Pro Football Focus, ranking 47th among edge defenders. With a healthy offseason to work on technique and the addition of Chuck Pagano as defensive coordinator, Floyd is poised for a breakout campaign in his fourth pro season. New outside linebackers coach Ted Monachino recently told the Chicago Tribune that Floyd "can be special" as he works on better counter techniques to turn pressures into sacks. Pagano's defense also features a number of blitz packages that allow linebackers and safeties to pressure the QB, and Floyd should face one-on-one opportunities due to the talent around him (Akiem Hicks and sack artist Khalil Mack).
