In their golden period 1969-1974

Best version of MIdnight Rambler with their virtuoso lead guitarist, Mick Taylor, blowing us away at 7:30

When Taylor left the band in 1974 they were never the same

I'm sure at one point there was some grittiness to seeing a Stones show, but now I imagine it's a corporate scene where the guys where khaki's and some kind of button shirt and the suburban moms wear those shirts with the shoulders cut out - because apparently that's the new uniform for suburban housewives who have kids in college.

Here is a Robert Johnson song (circa 1937) called Love in Vain. Mick Taylor has 2 solos. His solo at 5:10 is just great

As great as Keith Richards is he was jealous of the kid which was one reason he left the band

When Taylor left the band in 1974 everything changed. They went from greatest live band in the world to rock and roll circus. Monster size stages, props. His replacement Ron Woods is the nicest guy in rock music but no match for Taylor. In fact they stopped doing certain songs when Taylor left.

I went to their Chicago concert in 1975 and thought it was a bust.

None of this has anything to do with what I posted, and I simply don't give a single fuck about what concerts you've attended. KYS.

Oh, they are still a fun show but one doesn’t get blown away, either. But like the Eagles, Buffett, Fleetwood Mac, Seger, etc... They out there doing the same shit as always getting paid and paid big. The corporate scene is indeed an accurate descriptor. A lot of the Jackasses you see are there to be seen or entertaining “clients”. But at least they are up there singing and playing actual songs they wrote. Hey don’t need a crew of dancers to round out there act. There are a ton of no talent hacks making a lot of money without the talent of the likes of the Stones.

I don't even read what you post. I'm just throwing out my subconscious thoughts. Who are you anyway?

Do you jerk off to this tune in the fog, thinking about your "workouts" with Walter?

Idiot.

Agree. Saw the Stones 10 years ago (?) at the Sears Center, VIP suite, and it was very sterile. Not that it was 'bad', and in some ways the Stones are just delivering what is expected of them. I'm not a big fan, but its remarkable that they can still perform.

Best show I've seen live is The Motors in 1978:

Here is some Rolling Stones, with the great Muddy Waters. And it was done in Chicago. I would kill to have been there...
