The Seahawks agreed to trade Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, a 2020 second-round pick and a swap of third-round picks in 2019, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, via sources informed of the transaction.

Not long after the trade, Rapoport reported Clark agreed with the Chiefs to a new five-year contract worth a whopping $105.5 million with $63.5 million guaranteed.

KC determined to fix that shitty D of theirs. Clark's a beast but wow, that's almost as much as what the Bears gave up for Mack. Plus the contract. Him and Jones though will make a great pair on that D-Line though.

The Chiefs gave up more than the Bears gave up for Mack.

Is this guy really worth that trade capital and the big ass contract he's going to get?

For this coming season, yes. But after this season their offense is going to start to take a big step backwards because of it. This is the definition of mortgaging the future for a one year run...

Who's Frank Clark? = p A 6'3" 265 DE, he's basically the prototypical Mack type.

Not bad so now they'll lose to the Pats in the AFC Championship game 31-28

Uh, no. Two 1sts > 1st + 2nd
Actually the trade is Bears made:
Bears get: Khalil Mack, a 2020 second-round round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round pick.

Raiders get: 2019 first-round pick, 2020 first-round pick, 2020 third-round pick, 2019 sixth-round pick.

So the Bears get a second rounder for a third rounder. Which is ok since hopefully Bears will draft later in the rounds. Yes Bears gave up more for a future HOF compared to Frank Clark, who is a very good player. I take that any day.

It sounds worse when you put it that way. I like to think we gave up a 1st, a 3rd, and traded our 1st for their 2nd...

Which if the raiders stuck like they did last year and we improve in the playoffs..it may be a difference of moving 5 spots back lol

Uh no. The 2020 1st rd pick is most likely going to cancel out with the 2nd rd and 5th rd picks they gave us back.

I just did some projected draft values for the trade and the Bears gave the equivalent on a extra 4th round pick for Mack. There's enough margin for error here (about 100 draft value points) that future draft position could swing the trade value either way. Similar enough.

Their deals are also scary similar.

Yes they are. And who would you rather have, Mack or Clark? It's not even close...
