Jae Kyk Ryu killed the osprey. Ryu Hyun Jin's attitude toward Osprey is unknown at this point.

Hopefully not all Koreans hate birds or birds of prey.

But since his name is Ryu, maybe someone should shop a Hadoken fireball instead.

This is the guy that I am most interested for the Cubs. I think he fits perfectly for the long term. I really don't think he profiles to be a front of the rotation starter, but should be a decent backend of the rotation lefty that the Cubs can control for 6 years.

Keith Law apparently thinks of thought as a reliever and not a starter. If that's the case then I'm not sure he's worth the trouble.

Talent is talent, and we need more of it. Plus he doesn't count against our international spending.

Yeah if he is a reliever than it is probably going to cost more than he is worth, but he has competed well in international competition a few years ago. This is Cubs Den quick take on him:
Why he fits: Throws strikes and a good track record in the KBO. One of their best pitchers. Cubs have scouted well in Korea.

Why he doesn't: Stuff is average at best and the question is whether it would play against MLB hitters. Keith Law believes he's a reliever here though if the Cubs signed him, he'd definitely get a crack at the rotation

I will operate under the assumption that those in charge are smarter than I am and trust their judgment ;)

Bleacher Nation has a blurb up suggesting the Cubs are one of the big players for Ryu.

Jaime Moyer lasted a long time w 'average' stuff ( and of course got better after he left w time and experience ) . Who knows . Depends on how well he can locate ( which is something some guys can never do ). Glavine absolutely lived on the outside corner - that pinpoint pitch and control that made him one of the best .

But above avg talent is above avg talent , and he's a lefty so he's worth a shot .
