Last year Titch Mrubisky set an all time single season completion percentage record for a Bears QB that started at least 8 games in a season.

Heading into this season he seems primed to require an old time book burning to the current Bears single season records. Here is how Mitch stacks up against Bears starters of over 8 games or more in a season historically.
RecordSeasonRecord Holder#Mitch Trubisky 2018
Completion %2018Mitch Trubisky66.5966.59
Yards1995Erik Kramer38383274
TD's1995Erik Kramer2924
YPG2014Jay Cutler254.1230.2
Passer Rating1984Jim McMahon97.895.4
Interestingly, Jimmy Mac had that passer rating in 9 starts with a total of 143 passes thrown. MT's is second to his rating but with 434 attempts.

Wow... the Bears have never had a 4,000 yard passer. Thats truly amazing.

Im curious as to how many other NFL teams can "boast" this stat... Any of them?

I think he breaks the yards, ypg and TD's this year if he plays all 16 games.

I also think they lose at least one more game next season.

It’s a pretty short list.

The Eagles and the Bears...
How the hell are the Eagles in the same boat as the Bears? They've at least had good QBs: Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, Mike Vick, and now Carson Wentz. They were also in Andy Reid's system. Absolutely mind blowing.

Not in my lifetime, didn't even have to look that up. I've watched our Bears since the 60's.

I don't really care about stats with Mitch. It's all about the accuracy issues for me. He either gets that under control this year, or he never will. Matt Nagy has said as much in interviews about the overthrows. "We cannot have those."

I'm thinking tds, and maybe yards, BUT it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't break any.

Thats the thing...IF he gets that accuracy issue corrected, then that will lead to better stats!

Just a weird string of luck for McNabb and Cunnigham. McNabb had 8 seasons of 3000+ yards but never hit the 4000 mark. He got very close a few times including 3916 yards in 2008 and 3875 yards in 2004 despite getting injured and missing a game (he almost certainly would have hit 4000 yards in 2004 if he hadn't gotten hurt). Cunningham also got close a bunch of times including a 3800+ yard season. Vick never threw for many yards, and Wentz has only managed to stay healthy for one full season (his rookie year).

Mitch will hold nearly every Bears passing record by the time he retires, mostly because in the modern pass-happy NFL, a QB would only have to be average to rewrite the Bears entire single season and career record books.

Not particularly interested in Bears records since the bar for those is pathetically low. Cutler broke Bears records FFS. I'm more interested in how he does relative to his peers around the league.

This. In 1995, Kramer's 3838 passing yards was good for 7th behind Favre, S. Mitchell, Moon, J. George, J. Everett, and Elway

His 29 TDs were actually 4th behind only Favre, Moon and Mitchell

His passer rating was 4th behind Aikman, Favre and the league leader with the only 100 + rating for 1995:

Jim Harbaugh of the Colts.

TL;DR: Kramer's 1995 was IMO the best year of Bears QB play ever not just because of his stats but where his stats fell among the peers in the same timeframe.

Up until Winston hit 4k, the bears and bucs were the only team left without both a 4k passing season or a 30 td season.

I fully expect 4k out of trubs this year. Shit...12 guys did it last year with brees missing it by 8 yards after only 15 games.
