He has had interviewed a lot over the years, but it does not surprise me at all that he is getting interest this year. He has done a killer job with our defense.

Do we have someone internally that could take over if he finally lands a HC gig?

Broncos just fired a defensive minded HC. Phins?

Can't the Bears give him the Asst HC job?

I don’t see these two jobs as particularly attractive. I think there’s a decent shot he stays.

Broncos and Phins so far.

Two teams with QB problems, and no good chance to fix them this year.

PASS

NFL Network guys were just discussing the openings, and those are the bottom two in their opinion.

Meh. Vic has been around so long that no offense surprises him anymore. Our defense is so damn prepared and good that our 2nd string could start for other teams. Bears need to do whatever to entice the man into staying

I don't think he would leave this defense he built. Not everyone want's to be a HC. But I would not hate on him if he gets his shot at HC. Sucks for us but poaching will be common place for our staff now. Get used to it.

I think the Bears clearly showed him the love last offseason.

If a guy wants to be a HC, he'll take a job. Vic may still want that opportunity, but there's a chance he decides at this point, he will stay as DC. But money won't be the factor now.

These are just the first two. Donatell would be a good backup plan although I bet him and Vic are a package deal. Bowles and Nagy are supposedly tight but I don’t know much about him

With this many openings the chances of Vic getting a head coaching job just keep going up.

The most successful young HCs all have an offensive background.

If McCarthy sits out as expected, and the Jets keep getting turned down by college coaches, the candidate pool doesn't grow, and the chances go up.

Matt Campbell of Iowa State turned down the Jets. Ames over NYC.
