Other than the obvious backup QB spot.

What is the one position we can't afford to have someone go down with an injury at?

Is it the backup TE spot?

Marshall or Jeffery meaning Wilson has to start with no real fourth option?

The swing tackle if Bushrod goes down?

Linebacker depth?

The safety spot?

Is it Forte or are you confident in Carey?

you know your backups QBs are bad if you have a backup-caliber starter.

LB easily. Back up TE rarely gets work. Unless your the Patriots most teams back up TE rarely plays and probably average 20 catches a year.

I don't think LB depth is really an issue. Here's why:

I expect DJ to be so-so and I expect Bostic to be a bit better than last year. So it won't really matter who wins or who's the backup because I expect them to be equally mediocre.

McClellin and Jones are both new to NFL linebacking so that's a flip of the coin whether either of them will be any good.

If Briggs goes down we're fucked unless Greene takes a huge step or Jones can step in quickly there. So I'll give you WLB depth being an issue.

Basically I'm not worried about MLB and SLB depth because the starters aren't much if any better than their backups.

The way the Dline played last year, we can't afford any injuries at DT, imo.

To answer the original question,,,

IMO our biggest depth issue is LT. If Bushrod goes down Britton may make us wish we had Webb back. Hope I'm wrong or better yet hope JB starts all 19.

O-line if more than one guy goes down.

After that, D-line.

After that, LB.

I don't understand the people saying TE. Hell, you could just eliminate the TE as a passing option and still be top 5 in the league in passing yards. You see, we have a couple of guys widely known as the best receiving duo in the game. That alone makes the TE spot not as dire as some others.

Considering that the guys who played LB last year on the league's worst defense are the LB depth this year ... LB has to be high on the list, right?

The way you phrased the question, you're asking what starter we can't afford to lose, not what starter is the best compared to his backup (excluding Cutler). Marshall is the most important starter, but I think Forte is the biggest difference from starter to backup.
