Call me crazy, but purely from a fit standpoint as the roster is currently constructed, Ja is #1 in my list. Yes, obviously moves could be made, blah, blah, blah. I'm head over heels for Ja.

If I got the choice, I'd still take Zion but I wouldn't be mad at all if they got Ja. Love his game and upside. Reminds me of Westbrook, but I think he'll develop a much better shot than him.

I wouldn't pass on Zion.

Its Zion/Morant or bust for me though.

Bone or Dort or Alexander could be good second round PG steals. I’d take any of those plus Zion as a true draft coupe.

I really like Dort in the 2nd round, looks like he's going to be a defensive specialist and absolute lock-down beast. He physically looks like the next Lebron and he can also consistently get to the basket, but his shot sucks and is absurd at this juncture.

You have to envision all new starters other than LM. As I've been saying all along, ideally Lavine is a Vinnie "Microwave" Johnson-type player that should lead the second unit on a contending team.

Then again, this team is not going to be a legitimate contender for a long, long time (aka in the distant future when we finally have a new FO).

We're going to get 6th seed, first round exits for the next 5 seasons, and we're going to like it!

Garland might be a much better 3 point shooter than Morant based on limited data.

Seeing as we are going to have to get a bit creative at #7, a guy I like outside of the box is KZ Okpala.

KZ Okpala - Okpala interests me because of his potential and the efforts he has put in to help achieve his potential. He has a great combination of height, length and athleticism. He can handle and facilitate a bit, he can get to the rim, he is crafty drawing fouls. What I like most about him is his obvious work ethic and growth over one year in college. He became a dramatically improved 3-point shooter (22% to 38% from freshman to sophomore year). That type of jump requires work and I like high potential guys who show evidence of growth - it gives me confidence he works hard to improve his game and with the raw tools he may become an impact player.

My favorite draft day stories

1. Trade up to 3 or 4 or 5 and select Garland
2. Stay at 7 and take BPA (highest ceiling)
3. Trade down into second tier PG range (12-20), take the development player Bulls like and get additional assets
4. Trade lesser assets like Dunn and some face saving future pick for a Lanzo Ball or the disgruntled Terry Rozier
5. Find a veteran PG like Beverly or better yet somebody that can score like Lou Williams to pair with Dunn.

What do you all think the board looks like now that they are 7th, with the obvious guys taken off. What's realistic, and I assume PG is going to be a must take?

Not necessarily, although Coby White makes the most sense. There is still Cam Reddish.

I don't know much about White. Cam I have seen a bunch going back to last summer for team USA overseas. I think that's when it was. My concern there isn't talent he seems to have that but on such a loaded team how can anyone really properly assess the situation correctly. Especially with so much focus on Zion and Barrett. I feel like he's almost a thrown in. I like him but not sure that high. Think he's getting a bit of the Duke bump.

To be perfectly honest, my viewing of college basketball was extremely limited this past season (actually, been like that for awhile). So my thoughts are very limited, and my scope is based on need - which isn't the best NBA draft strategy. My only real thought is that Zion looks like he has the body type that could balloon.

Yeah, he's a great talent for sure, and an extremely dominant player in college over the kids who in general aren't as physically advanced as he is. I'm just not sold on how it will fit in the NBA or where he will fit when he's slamming up against big beast guys that he won't be able to over power. He's not like Lebron who didn't have a defined position because he was so skilled at them all, he doesn't seem to know what position he is because of his body type.
