Yeah...I originally subtracted their total dollars committed from this year's payroll without adding the options and what not so I was wrong. There's still an issue though. It says that the Cubs' total payroll in 2012, if all options are exercised, is 111.8M but when I added it up I got 113.8M. Not that big of a deal, give or take a couple million lets just say the Cubs have 15-17M coming off the books going into 2012.

Yeah they shouldn't but knowing the Cubs they will, they have love for him and I don't see why.

So you saw it'll be 111MM and payroll was 126M ... so about 15M, is that correct and I saw exact same thing.

Yeah that's good. All I can say, Trade or non-tender Hill Baker and DeWitt..save about 6MM. Do you think they should pick up Samardzija's 3.25M option? I say no but I bet they will.

Kerry Wood is a FA but he better be back. Grabow will be gone, Baker good chance he'll be gone, DeWitt better be gone, Hill better be gone..last 3 up for arb. Demp will pick up PO, I'm going to have a blog post up on who they should sign and what they should do this offseason. This trade deadline will set up a lot for the offseason..if I'm JH I'm trading all as possible close to 30 or over. And re-start-new beginning for the Cubs.
