What do you mean by that? My biggest worry is he can't control a locker room he seems like more of a laid back nerdy type.

Payton is the brains and Braun behind everything the Saints do. Hiring one of assistants thinking they will bring the creative spark that Payton has just isn't going to work.

It is extremely rare for a rookie head coach to take their team to a possible 12-4 and at the least an 11-5 record.

This is historically Patriot territory.... and as a rookie head coach unheard of.

For the Packers to make a turnaround similar to the BEARs, it would be as likely as a lightning strike. I have faith in Nagy and the org to keep this 'thing' going for a few years at least and possibly much longer.

In 2018, the Bears (Nagy) are likely to end up 11-5.
In 2017, Sean McVay and the Rams went 11-5 his first year.
In 2016, the Giants and Ben McAdoo went 11-5 in his first year.
In 2015, the Broncos went 12-4 with Gary Kubiak in his first year.
In 2014, the Lions went 11-5 with Jim Caldwell in his first year.
In 2013, the Chiefs went 11-5 with Andy Reid in his first year.
In 2012, the Colts went 11-5 with Chuck Pagano in his first year.

You're right, it's just so rare for teams to go 11-5 with first year coaches.

Couldn't you say the same thing about an Andy Reid assistant?

I think that's incorrect. A guy who has spent a lot of time with Payton is going to pick up a lot of good schemes, ideas, habits, etc.

Rodgers wants then to keep Philbin. I hope he gets his way (as always)

They better find someone who is willing to get Rodgers' coffee for him.....might do better to get a DC as their next HC.

I'm looking forward to the decline of Aaron Rodgers. I'm sure whichever coach inherits that will be blamed for it.
