sHe was serious (not really).

Yeah, I know Tony.

Sorry, it always takes a bit to get to know people in real life as well as how they write online. I'm fairly always misanthropic and sardonic--I also say 'fuck' a lot.

Tony is happy go lucky and from Indiana--which means he has no sense and his mother dresses him funny. He also has partial developmental disabilities, which explains his inexplicable support for ARSEnal.

want to post here but maybe a spoiler

but in all seriousness, id probably be more of a Fire fan if they were actually good, like when i was a kid in 97-98, when the won the MLS championship their first year and back to back once, my dad usto take me to Soldier Field to watch em play, they also had one of the best Mexican goalies of all time for a while; Jorge Campos.

Jorge Campos? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAA..... No really. Your killing me here.

The Fire were fantastic in several years and have continued to win Championships or been very close in several seasons. The USOC IS domestic silverwear, and we're the Kings of The Cup. The teams from 2005-2009 were fantastic, and got to the semi-final for 3 years running. Those were great teams.....but you may be looking at things through some rose-coloured glasses to think that the only year they were good was their first year. It just means you made minimal investment or are only a glory-hunter of a fan (as far as I'm concerned). The whole "call me when they win something" is a horrible way to support the local side. But hey, to each his/her own.

This thread has been un-pinned merely to save room up top as I try to decrease the number of threads up there to make it look neater.

When new members are coming in at a higher rate, this will be re-pinned for sure.

If when this gets re-pinned, having it as a general introduction for new folks would be cool--we could even come up with a few basic questions like what teams/leagues they follow, which ones they don't, fav player, if they are in a supporters group, first professional match attended, what made you a fan, etc. etc.

Ya, we could do that now actually, even without it pinned, we could set that up. :)

and i watched then.

but with The Bulls, Bears, Sox, Hawks and Cubs (to a lesser extent) on my Chicago sports plate, it just hasnt been a priority to watch a losing (tying team) this season.

Except we're all losing teams here in Chicago summers .

Funny part about tying is that we're not losing.

But for the standards the Fire faithful have, it certainly feels like a losing season....ugh.

Yep, very frustrating... and we don't even get the #1 overall draft pick for all of this because of Montreal!
