Anybody else heard the rumors that the MLS is adding divisionns next year? I think a few more teams will be moved to the Eastern Conference because Vancouver and Portland are both Western Conference without a doubt.

I heard that one of the divisions will be the Central, which the Fire used to be in a while back (don't remember when), before they re-aligned into just the Eastern and Western Conferences.

Think the Fire will be in the Central division.

Ya, the Cosmos look to be the front-runners for the 2013 expansion. And, of course, there are two LA teams too.

It would be quite some time for a 2nd Chicago team, but a Cubs-Sox situation could stir up some interest.

I don't really think either New York or Chicago requires or deserves a second team. We have a hard time filling up the seats for most games at Toyota Park, and with the exception of a couple of games (which may or may not have featured an aurora borealis by visiting supporters ;)), the Red Bulls have had a similar issue in Jersey.

The "location" issues in New York/Jersey are irrelevant, its easy enough to get from Manhattan/Long Island in plenty of time for the game using public transit (I left Central Park at 5 to get to the game in time this spring) which is something that can't be said for Chicago/Bridgeview.

Ya, LA, having no American Football, is an exception.

Another Chicago Team could be great, but it could be bad.

The Fire have a good fan base as it is. Adding another team could ruin that. But it also could add to the rivalry factor.

Ya, if the Fire's fan base gets karge enough, this could be a great idea though.

Chivas USA was a possible 2nd team for Chicago when they first entered the league. Thank fuck they weren't.

This is Fire town.
