I have a crazy feeling that our defense will be even better than 2018.

You give me Ray lewis and I think I can coach a top 5 defense in the NFL. Ill wait and see on this one. Not thrilled but not bummed either. Im indifferent. Weren't too many options.

But Pagano has Hicks Mack Smith Fuller and Jackson.

Pagano inherited an experienced elite defense in 2011 which had dominated for several years prior led by HOF types Lewis, Suggs, Reed and Ngata. He seems like a solid choice and apparently is aggressive but I'm not basing that much on his lone 2011 DC year.
below is year, Ravens team defensive points allowed, yards

2011 3 3
2010 3 10
2009 3 3
2008 3 2

I approve of this hire. From all accounts he is a very well respected coach who the players like. He should fit well in the environment Nagy is building. I'm curious to see the twists and wrinkles he will bring to the defense.

He will do well IMO barring a bunch of injuries because the cupboard is loaded on that side of the ball.

This is why Pagano was the best option once Fangio left

1. He is not Gregg Williams, Rex Ryan, or any former Bears that was suggested.
2. He has done well as a DC, when he has reasonable personnel.
3. He is an accomplished DB coach and has a long resume of really good players that he has worked with.
4. He has a similar "quiet old school" style similar to Fangio
5. He has experience as HC in big game [6 playoff games, 1 AFC Championship Game] and that is the next hurdle for Nagy.
