Curious what everyone thinks is our top priority to improve our beloved?

For me it's finding an impact RB that fits our system. I love Howard but he's just not the type of back this offense calls for. Our RB needs be quick and be able to cutback with ease. Way too often Howard ran downhill resulting in running up the back of an OL when there was a clear cutback lane. The back also needs to be a mismatch in the passing game versus just capable. My prediction is we use a 3-4 or 5 pick to fill this need as there is a glut of backs graded in this area that can be an immediate impact players.

I know some will say what about Cohen, but to me he's a hybrid slot WR who can carry occasionally. This back will be our primary ball carrier along with combing with Cohen to provide 2 match up nightmares that can line up in the backfield or slot. If we can find the impact back I speak of our offense will grow so much. The lack of impact play from our running game killed the offense the entire season. Young QB always perform better with a running threat. Trubisky and the passing game will have an actual PA threat and PA passes always have the highest QB rating.

Current players that our RB should play like:
Bell
Coleman
Freeman
Hunt
Gurley
K Johnson
Barkley
McCaffrey
Kamara
Lindsey

Obviously we are guaranteed that a draft pick will ever be this good, but the skill set fit this group is the model.

RB, PK, improved Depth across the board.

Tevin Coleman blows, especially between the tackles. Nagy needs a North-South runner with burst

1) find a solid DB coach (we're going to need one)
2) re-sign Callahan
3) fix/solidify right side of the OL

#1 priority is fix special teams - by far the weakest unit this year

#2 shore up the oline

#3 plug holes where the money isn't there to re-sign defensive starters

So. basically draft a guy in the 3-4-5 round who immediately plays like one of the top 10 rb in the game?

Good strategy.

I agree they need a rb. With their limited resources this off-season I think they have to take the potential gift of Hunt. It’s a high risk high reward move but with where they stand with the cap and draft it is one I think they have to take. You still keep Howard this season as well.

Next is kicker. They have to get this right. Don’t spend a lot so if the first guy doesn’t work you move on. Unless of course Gould would take a one year discount which I doubt it’s not his style.

KR/Punter could use an upgrade but not as much as the above 2.

Beyond that it’s try to somehow keep Callahan and Amos and then build depth. They can’t overpay for either and if they got to go they got to go.

Not RB. Cohen/Howard are a nice 1-2 punch, used differently in different situations.

I think OL. And maybe DB depth. K/P free agents or UDFA rookies.

QB is good.
RB is fine
WR are fine, they'll all take a step, I think. Okay with ARob, Miller, Gabriel, Wims, etc.
TE is weird—no idea.
DL is stout.
DE are strong.
LB are great.
CB good.
S maybe depth there.

I clearly said a style like those players. Check the recent drafts, there is at least 1 player drafted each year from those rounds who becomes a franchise back. Just look at the RB class this year and there are 5+ guys that fit the style we need and are clearly devalued only due to position.

One thing is apparent--the best teams have a great OL.
For as much love as Daniels got on this board, he still played bad half of the time. But he'll improve.
Whitehair has obviously plateaued as an average interior OL, maybe slightly better than average.
Long is declining and injury prone.
Massie is a FA
Leno is inconsistent but doesnt make a ton of money for a LT.

Draft a mid round OL to develop, sign a vet for depth and try to get a decent RT as well.

Ask the colts if they're the best team.

Sign Bell or Hunt.

Sign Hankins who signed in Indy for Pagano and can anchor the D along with Goldman/Hicks, reducing injury depletion concerns.

Trade for Brown or Beckham

Draft S, CB, RT, RG

SUPERBOWL

this makes zero sense.

Hunt. And if Virginia vetoes this like people have said, then she obviously has no concern to bring a Superbowl to Chicago

Upgrading Howard, Parkey and Burton should be the priorities. Sucks about Burton, but idk how he can be counted on going forward.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nashville Predators
  1. ETSU Buccaneers
  2. Tennessee Volunteers
ST's all together needs a revamp. Especially if McManis is the starting NB next year. I see lots of good depth and athletes, so dump Tabor already. Outside of onside kick, the group rarely seems prepared.
