Was Ballard the right choice? :nervous:

He did a great job closing the deal to bring Nagy to Indy which was easy because they worked together in KC. The McD hire was another feather in his cap.

Pace will probably approach Trevathan about an extension. Tear up current deal and give him 3 years past this one. Roll up some cap savings into the bonus structure. You can't go status quo with Kyle Long. It's either cut him or restructure with pay cut.
Logical if the option is there.

Correction: we actually do not save on Parkey. We can only June 1st bonus money, which means he costs 4 million this season and 1.1 next.

that worthless cocksucker.

how did Pace fuck this up so bad? if he was like an elite level talent I would understand, but he sucks.

2018 NFL Executive of the year.

50 million in carry over cap space after a playoff season WOW!

Drafted the Defensive rookie of the year, Drafted an Pro-Bowl/All-Pro rookie in the same year. (First time in over 50yrs)

Best draft of 2018.

3 draft picks in the first 2 rounds in 2019

Youngest roster in the NFL (minus a 46yr old kicker)

All this in only his 2nd season. You can’t deny this guy is pretty damn good.

He had an excellent draft this year. Getting back a healthy Luck had more to do with their success than Chris Ballard. Without Luck, they would have been fortunate to win 3 or 4 games.

The Bears draft was every bit as good or better than the Colts.

I see you also edited your post about them being the only team with all their draft picks being on the roster. I guess you did that because the Bears also have every pick on the 53.

Pace did well and spent big in terms of picks and resources.

Ballard did well and used less capital, which is why I think he won. Signings like Ebron, Autry, Glowinski, where they did not spend top money and got top performance to me is the likely reason he won.

Colts can sign 2 premium FAs and also easily fill in whatever other holes with second tier FA and 3 premium picks. $110m in cap space or so. They are set up with a really nice window here, will be among the AFC favorites over the next few years.

And the Colts an amazing 49 million.

Colts have the money to go heavy this year. If Ballard can amp up that roster they can be a contender to lose to the Patriots this year.

The Browns have even more money. And Mayberry looks legit. Browns have talent they just need some pieces as well. If they throw that money at giving Mayfield weapons then the Browns can also be a contender to lose to the Patriots this year.

Massies deal will be closer to 8 not 5, why would he stay for less money than he made the past 3 years?

You can say that about almost every team in the league that doesn’t have their starting QB.

Pace had a good draft but the Colts has the best draft.

I edited the post because they carried 11 rookies on the 53 which was the 3rd most in the NFL. (3 were undrafted)

We know his deal is for 8/season.

I doubt his cap hit is 8. I used 5 as a placeholder cap hit because with the Bears tight to the cap my guess is the money is more in year 2-4 then in year 1.

Having the money and signing the premiere free agents is far from a lock.

I was talking to a Colts fan buddy of mine and they are not expecting fireworks once everyone has been franchise tagged.

Eddie Goldman yearly average 10.5 million

2018 cap hit: 4 million

All that really matters in these deals is the 2019 cap hit.

Like Wentz and Flacco? Oh no, both of those teams made the playoffs.

Without Luck, that group would be drafting in the top 5.
