Maybe close to that. He's a principled man, Eagles already know he wouldn't do that (take 20 to ride the bench). Plus, he's a good QB at age 30, who's really never had a successful full year. I think he wants to start.

My question is, if they Franchise him, can Eagles except less than the 2 1st Round picks that's supposed to cost? I'd assume so. I read an article saying Eagles would be looking for a 3rd.
Yes they can. Matt Cassel Chiefs trade is a near perfect analogy.

What? A young garapollo who many thought was a franchise QB, went for a second.

The eagles may snag a third for foles.

Homos are bad at reading comprehension? Who knew?

This homo is bad at reading comprehension. I can't speak on others, but warden (known homo) has really poor reading comprehension skills.

That’s total bullshit, just because it’s a lot of money to you doesn’t mean he shouldn’t get his fair market value, which would be much more than what he’ll be tagged at.

What? The tag will pay him more for the year than he'd get anywhere. If he gets traded, it probably isn't happening without an extension which he needs to agree to so he still has some say.

I hope no one trades for him.

I would like to see the Eagles have to eat that 22 million.

With Foles tagged they are 20 million OVER the cap.

They can rescind the tag whenever want.

Edit: Once he signs it, it's binding.

Dammit. I don't want to google.

I was wrong, once it's signed it can't be rescinded. But once it's signed it also goes immediately onto the team's cap, so it kinda seems tough for the Eagles to do it at all.

What a douchey thing to do to the guy. Just release him and let him go to a team of his choosing. By all accounts he is a great guy and great teammate...so why do him dirty like this?

How on earth is this treating him dirty?

They have a QB that was on his way to MVP last year and still paid Foles to be the highest paid backup in the league this year.

Give him away for nothing? Why should a team do this? They paid him a ton and treated him like a king.

And he was worth every penny. He never complained about his role and he won them a SB. They have no intention of moving forward with him so just let him give the $2M back and free him up to sign with whomever he likes.
