#Bears RG Kyle Long has agreed to a restructured contract that will create some cap room and ensure he's with the team in 2019. He was due to count $8.5M vs. cap this year. Team player will be back.

I recall a couple people guaranteeing Long would be gone this season.

I imagine the Bears probably saved around 4 million plus with the restructure this year, just a guess.

Novak just exploded somewhere.
Meh.

Overpaid player takes a pay cut. I think even the biggest critics can live with that result. Only pulling in three million won't sting as bad when he is back to playing PS4 in a hospital bed.

I think most of us said if he didn't restructure he would be gone. Hey look he restructured.

Long taking a pay cut assures 2 things.

1) he sucks. No where near worth the value he was paid. Imagine dancing about a player admitting he fleeced the bears for years. Are you guys even bears fans?

2) Ryan Pace was an idiot for signing him to said contract. See point 1.

Or he has let the team down by being injured too long and too often through his said big contract and wants to take one for the team.

Or, and hear me out, he didn't have a choice!

LMAO, thinking Long did this out the goodness of his heart. What a meatball.

Looks like you may have been off just a bit on your prediction of Long being cut this offseason. By like 50-60 years or so.
