Tavon Young is only 24, call it $27/3yrs ($9/yr)... Considering Callahan's injury history and being 27, that would put him less than $8mil/yr, maybe $7mil/yr and then add incentives for more games... that's not crazy.

you're gettin better at this. but problem is Callahan is proven only to be held up by injury.

I agree with hub, i do get the feeling that the bears will look for the home run signing as well if collins/honey badger are available.

Honey Badger is not better than Amos at this point in his career.

Source: The #Panthers are releasing nickel CB Captain Munnerlyn. A solid CB available in a less-than-strong FA market at that position.

i agree that honey badger is not better than amos as a SS but he's much more versatile and when the price tag is ~7mill, its makes sense be versatile...honey badger can play NB, FS, SS...i expect callahan to go eleswhere leaving just mcmannis.

Great safety list. I'd add Justin Coleman to the slot list and maybe Marcus Gilchist to the S list.

Verrett is a really talented kid. However, he makes Callahan look like Cal Ripken when your look at his health/availability. He has had zero luck since arriving in the NFL.

Kurt Coleman who was released by the Saints is another player who could pop up on the Bears radar if Amos leaves.

Long history with Nagy
Veteran who can compete with Bush
21 career interceptions
NO COMP pick impact

This is one of the most important things for me this offseason. The Bears streak of no comp picks needs to end next year. It's fucking pathetic and drives me nuts.

I mentioned him last week. Very good player in the past but kind hit the wall last year. Not sure if it was an injury or what.

I think he is an option if you have faith in Bush.

If you do not then we will need someone better.

To further protect the comp picks the Bears need some of their other guys to sign qualifying offers.

Aaron Lynch getting 2 million plus would be a huge plus.
Pat O'Donnell getting 1.5 million plus would be a help.

Dolphins are releasing Robert Quinn and Andre Branch.

Either would make a solid #3 OLB and would not effect comp picks.

Quinn would take up most of the Bears cap space and I doubt he is looking to be a 3rd OLB. Branch maybe, but even he may be too high. Neither need a 1 yr prove it deal.

Yeah, Lynch getting something that would offset a 6th or 7th rnd comp could protect a potentially much higher pick for Amos or Callahan.

How does that process work? I would think Lynch is worth more than 2 mil.
