yeah, so he sat a full season to get less money than if he would have accepted that very generous Steelers offer

Early morning tidbit: Bears never got in the Le’Veon Bell conversation. Never submitted an offer. Never seriously considered him. Cap space clear was about flexibility, as
@BradBiggs
reported.

This deal can make him more than $15m/year. Steelers deal was $14m/year. A higher % of cap than I would ever pay a RB.

Plus he lost out on his entire salary from last year. His agent messed up.

No worries...his super good rap album sales will more than make up the difference for what he lost.

Well, that part was dumb but it may not have been his agent's idea. I'm not sure a year off is good for him either. Will be interesting to see how it works out for the Jets. His replacement had similar #s with the Steelers and actually higher yards per carry and catch. I appreciate his ability but I don't pay a RB that kind of money.

Yeah it seems like it was only the Jets that actually offered anything. Wonder what we'll do with 20m left in cap space. Hopefully grab a safety today.

glad bell went to the jets instead of the raiders...hopefully the raiders suck again this season and give us a high 2nd rd pick.

I’m a little intrigued by Clinton-Dix. I wonder if getting teamed up with Jackson (two Bama guys pushing each other) would revitalize him.

Would Ha Ha really be that much worse than Amos? Packers unloading him last season was a bit weird to me. I didn't follow him when he went to the Redskins, but always thought he was decent with the Packers.

He’s certainly not afraid to tackle and he makes plays on the ball. On the Bears, I think he would be better than Amos. Plus, he’s never missed a game. He’s incredibly durable and only 26.

very glad the bears didnt go after bell he is a doosh

I'm glad too. He's going to be a fat, overpaid, diva for the Jets now.

Let's focus on getting an RB in the draft and getting Howard back to where he was a year ago.

It was a fun distraction for the day, but I think in the long run this will be better for the Bears and their cap situation.
