Sale, IDK. You guys got a few good options. You have no Marmols :))) or Riveras, but you got some good choices.

Sale, but I'm fine with Santos. But I think its Thornton, why else would we sign a guy thats only good as a LOOGY when we already have a perfectly good dominate one as we type.

Marmol has no business being in the same sentence as a future HOF'er.

Thornton has proved he can get righties out too, so I say give him the job and see how he does.

Chris Sale > Carlos Marmol... and it's not even close.

I want Sale to close. When the best contact hitter in baseball (Mauer) says that Chris Sale is one of the scariest and hardest pitchers to face in the league you're doing something right.

Now Now, I love me my White Sox and dislike the Cubs, but to call Sale better than Marmol at this point is wishful thinking. Mauer wouldn't come out and say Jenks blows even though he does.

I want Santos to be the closer, leave Thorton as 8th inning guy and sometimes an out or two in the 7th. If Santos fails, not that great of a loss, if Sale blows it we could have lost our first round pick before his career even starts. Not that I think Sale can't handle it, but the risk reward is much greater with Sale than Santos.

Sale's played for half a season? As for Mauer, so what? On ESPN once they asked a bunch of baseball players who they'd not want to face, and Pujols said Marmol.

Not even close? You are crazy. If it isn't close, it'd be Marmol ahead of him.

marmols name in the same sentence with rivera is just wrong.

Ya, IK. Not as wrong as saying Sale is far better than Marmol though.

No, I'm pretty sure it is more wrong.

I remember that survey...I know Pujols did not say Marmol lol.

CHRIS SALE for Closer!

I think it IS important to note what Mauer said about Sale. Several sports sources, including Hot Stove on the MLB Network and ESPN felt it was noteworthy enough to mention it as well. I'd be happy with Thornton or Santos, but I was excited whenever Ozzie put Chris on the mound to close last season. He was the only one who didn't make me nervous!

Nvm, it was Holliday (I looked it up).

Regardless, insane to say Sale>Marmol, especially when adding "it's not even close".

Congrats, Joe Mauer said he is a scary and hard pitcher. If you get a pitcher who throws 200 MPH, I am sure he would be a scary and hard pitcher to face. However, does that mean that he would be the next Cy Young Winner? No. Stuff does not equal performance.

I have no desire to get into an arguement with any homer Cub fans

I'm no homer, I know the Cubs suck. I do know that Marmol is better than Sale as of now though. How's that make me a homer?

I never compared Marms to Rivera, notice the stupid smiley?
