Roster Moves & Injured Reserve Thread

This is the thread for you to send down and/or call up players. It may or may not effect your cap depending on the players you move up and down. Some players also are not able to be sent down this way and must clear waivers. If you post it here, I'll move it to the other thread. If its a young player and/or a guy on a rookie deal they can probably be sent down here and if its a player with not much NHL experience they can probably be sent down here as well. If its a veteran player with lots of NHL experience, you probably have to send them through waivers.

format:
Team: Columbus Blue Jackets

Send Down: John Moore
Cap number: 995,000

Call up: Kyle Wilson
Cap number: 600,000

Cap space: (leave it blank)

If you have a player who is out for the season and is not already on LTIR for the rest of the season you may place them on it here.

Example:
Team: Pittsburgh Penguins
Player: Evgeni Malkin
Salary: 8,700,000

Cap space added: (leave it blank, will be done by me)

If you place a player on LTIR, you do not get to use him the rest of the season if there is a chance he returns for the playoffs or something like that. There is a chance that the commissioners will not allow you to place a player on LTIR as well.

Waivers Thread

How waivers work:

If you want to send a player to the minors(or just hope that someone will claim a high salary player) you must waive them. After a player is waived you have 2 days to claim them, if no one claims them they are sent to the minors. If they want to call them back up they must put them on RE-ENTRY waivers, if you claim a player on re-entry waivers you pay 50% of their salary and the team pays the other half.

For the mock deadline, the amount of salary cleared will be calculated for you.

The date/time period of the waiver process will be very strict. Make sure you check to see if there is a player you might want daily.

Team:
Player:
Salary:
Date:

Example:
Team: New York Rangers
Player: Wade Redden
Salary: 6.5 cap hit for 4 more years
Date: Feb 14/10

Mock Deadline Rules

You will take the team that you are given and take them through the 2010/11 deadline, into the 2011 offseason, and through the 2011/12 season, possibly even into the 2011/12 deadline. At the end of the deadline, which will only last approximately 2 weeks, there will be voting for who gets into the 2010/11 playoffs and then voting through the playoffs. That will be followed by an abridged offseason with free agents, and trades which will be followed by more voting into and through the 2011/12 season just like in a regular offseason.

*Just like the real deadline, you are the GM (or assistant GM) of the team that you have.
*You will be able to fire and hire a new coach (within reason)
*We will be working with the NHL cap of 59.4 million dollars and a lower limit of 43.4 million with the cap increasing at the beginning of the offseason
*The 2011/12 cap will increase to 61 million dollars and a lower limit of 46 million.
*You will have control of every player on your NHL team, your AHL team, and your top 20 prospects according to hockeysfuture.com
*there will be no trading of salary or cap space
*the official site for all salaries is CapGeek.com :: It's a numbers game :: The definitive source for NHL salary cap data and player contracts (we will be using cap hit)
*free agent minimum is $500,000
*If your player has a NTC(no trade clause) you will have to ask them to lift it(see trade sub forum). No trade clauses are listed on your page on capgeek.com.
*your NHL Roster size must be 23 players; 4 lw, 4 c, 4 rw, 6 d, 2 g, 3 reserves
*your top prospect list and prospect rankings can be found on Hockey Future
* When you receive a player in a trade, the salaries will be calculated for you by the commissioners.
*Waivers will be in effect. More details on the waiver thread.

NMC/NTC Thread

Here you can ask players to waive their NMC/NTCs. It will help if you have a team that you are trading the player too.

Format:
Team: Columbus Blue Jackets
Player: Mike Commodore
Reason: Your time has come Mike and you have been passed on the depth chart by younger players, we want to give you a chance to join a contender for this season.

I will then edit your post with a different color font to say if they accept or decline a request
