that the Cubs are listening to offers for Tom Gorzelanny since Zambrano is going to be going back in the rotation next week against Pittsburgh.

He also said "Don't be surprised if teams come calling for Zambrano though."

Hmm... interesting if nothing else. I'm wondering what Gorzo is worth. He's been solid but there's no room for him in the 'pen with GraBlow, Marshall, and Russell (who's been pitching very well).

This was on ESPN First Take by the way.

I'm not sure what his contract looks like? But yeah I'm sure he has decent trade value, could hopefully get us a reliable righty in the 'pen. I'd be very surprised if teams came calling for Big Z, they'll want to see how his return to the rotation goes before they even think about pursuing him.

I like Gorz, but wouldn't be upset if he was traded. And if someone came and offered a box of Oreos for Zambrano they should take it.

I like Gorzo anh he loves Chicago but if you can get a 7th or 8th inning guy for him take it. But he would be a way way way way way way better lefty specialist than Grabow.

Zambrano will help in the rotation and I think he gets back to be almost an ace. He gots his fire back and not talking to himself on the mound but that is in relief. But if you can get 2 mid level spects or 1 mid spect and a young major league player maybe relief take it. Because you can probably shed most of contract. But will he waive his NTC? He says NO but maybe that will change over the next month.

Dont trade Big Z for anything but 3 top prospects..... Gorzo could go with either Baker or Fontenot for a good RP

Cant tell me the Indians wouldnt take Gorzo and Fontenot for Wood.... Gorzo be good starter for them and since Cabrera out for the year fontenot step right in and be there starting 2B

^ They probably will because it sheds money not all because no one will take on his contract. Gorzo probably be there 3rd starter and Fonteot can be in the utility role. They probably will do that.

As much as I like Kerry Wood I don't want him back. He is just an injury waiting to happen. I realize a lot of people like him since he was with the Cubs forever but do you really believe he will help? And with his contract it's to much of a risk to take.

Yeah Kerry is to much of a risk. He's getting paid over $10m isn't he? For a guy with a very high ERA who's injury prone, doesn't make sense.

Wood's Cubs career is best left in the past.

If I remeber correctly, he got a 2 year contract worth 21 million. So he is making about 10.5 million or so this year.

Gorz has pitched well, but someone has to go to make room for Big Z. Gorz might net us something decent in return, and as it has already been stated, there is no room for 4 lefties in the bullpen. I would say that he has been a pretty good "throw in" from the Grabow trade last year.

Gorzo and a bag of shit to Oakland for Wuertz or Ziegler.

Or Gorzo and Baker plus a prospect for Heath Bell.

Those are two scenarios, but I prefer he stays in the rotation.
