OT: Rays sign Manny & Damon

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Rays have signed both Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon to a one-year deals.

Damon will receive $5.25 million, plus a possible $750,000 more in attendance bonuses. That's a little more than we'd want to pay him, but the Rays more than made up for it by only having to give Manny $2 million. Damon will likely handle left field, which will probably result in Desmond Jennings getting more seasoning at Triple-A. Manny will be used as the primary DH. Dan Johnson appears ticketed for the first base job unless the Rays make another move.
