IMO he sees some of the players who are signing and feels he is worth more than them and he doesnt mind waiting for the right contract, but the ship is sailing for him

I'm considering retirement too. Have been for years. Wife says we still need the money.

Dye was really weird throughout this entire process... teams wanted him but he wanted the right destination and then when they cooled off a bit and he turned down some of the deals he added more requests.

Definitely needs to realize who has the leverage in the situation of a deteriorating mid to late 30s designated hitter.

Too greedy!!

If he wold set for a low deal; 1-3M he would have found a team last year and prolly this year. But since he missed all of 2010, it will be hard now. Prolly would have to settle for MILC..

He also wanted to play in the field, for some specific teams. I remember the Nationals sent him a pretty fair offer which he turned down.

True.. He did not want to DH. And I do to rememeber the Nats did send him an reasonable offer. But since their not contenders, he didnt want to play their.

Which is maddening. So you want a contender (maybe, what, 9-10 teams?) to let you play RF when you were -21.9 in UZR.

Good luck with that, champ.
