There is a bug in the EASHL player mode for OTP. The bug subtracts 500 attribute points from your player if you reset your players points. It doesnt happen all the time, and I do not know why it happens. but I will provide a fix for you for xbox 360.
Example: A legend card holder will have 2500 points to use on their player. the bug will give you 2000 only.
To Fix:
1) go into your EA Nhl user profile and delete it.
2) go to the dashboard, go to system settings, memory, and your total GBs should come up.
3) at the total GB screen press Y to clear cache.
4) go back into NHL. Your players face etc and name will be gone. but your stats, boosts, and cards will still all be available.
5) skip through the intro to the game part where they teach you the game, and go straight to edit attributes.....you will have 2500 back.
