White Sox left-hander Mark Buehrle said he would be willing to approve a trade, depending on the circumstances, if the South Siders were looking to deal him, writes Scott Merkin of MLB.com.

Buehrle, being a 10-year veteran with at least five of those coming with the White Sox, has full no-trade protection. Buehrle said there are teams he wouldn't want to play for and would therefore veto being dealt to them, but he also said that he would accept certain trades if one were in the best interest of the White Sox because he is on good terms with the team and owner Jerry Reinsdorf.

"They have done enough for me," Buehrle told Merkin.

Chicago, though, is considered a strong contender in the AL Central this year and is not actively interested in trading any of its starters, according to Merkin. Buehrle, in the final season of a four-year, $56MM deal, could be an attractive in-season trade target for contending teams should the White Sox get off to a slow start and fall out of the postseason picture.

Na, don't let the Cardinals improve. Trade him somewhere else in a 3-way trade to get Rasmus that leaves STL with a couple prospects... I don't want STL improving at all... even with a loss.

Ya, why would you want to be somewhere where you haven't won a championship in 5 seasons?

It can be seen two ways IMO, either, he doesn't want to play here anymore, or he's thinking if he gets traded then he's banking on the Sox tp have no desire to re-sign him and he can slim down the market.

i personally think if there is any substance to this at all, it is KW looking to move MB to clear the dough, they may know more than what they are stating about peavy. and with stl losing wainwright, i wouldnt be surprised if kw called stl already to gauge interest.

I really don't ever want to see Buehrle leave the Sox, at least until he retires. But being in the last year of his contract, at least they could get something for him in return instead of letting him walk for free next winter.
