It would just be nice to see us over .500 for the first time in more than a year.

This is what I've been saying. I was waiting all last year until the Cubs proved to me that it wouldn't happen. Even one game being over .500 would be satisfying. Of course, I'd still want more, but it would satisfy for a little bit.

Cubs sweeping Pittsburgh isn't hard at all.

Cleveland at least has a real ace in Carmona.

I still think both can sweep the cellars of their divisions.

You can talk shit about shitsburgh all you want, but the top of their lineup is legit.

Tabata, Walker, McCutchen, and Alvarez is possibly a better four than what we have. I would definitely take 3 of those 4 over the position players we have at those spots now. Maybe Alvarez as well over Ramirez, but I would need to see more from him.

Overbay and Jones are decent at 1B and RF. Snyder is okay, and Cedeno sucks, but really its not a bad offense.

Pitching is pretty rough though. Maholm is alright, but nothing special. Same with Correia, and the others well they are all pretty bad.

Still this won't be as easy as it looks, but we sure as hell better do better vs the Pirates this year.

I'm impressed with there younger players too, but they have no pitching at all and couldn't figure out how to win at all last year, except against the Cubs, even after they were all called up.

I still see Pittsburgh at 72 wins tops.

Yeah, a guy who has had a FIP below 4 a whole once is a real ace

He probably wouldn't even be a 4 starter on the Cubs.

Point is, he's better than Correia.

Is 4 bad, or average?

Ya, nevermind about Carmona, I assumed he was better than he was when the Indians were asking for teams' top 2 prospects and then some for him.

He is barely better than Correia.

And FIP is based off of an ERA scale so basically figure out what you think a good ERA is and then the FIP would be compared to that.

Then Matt Garza is pretty average, he's never had a FIP under 4.

Yeah, its because he has had a few good seasons sprinkled around some really bad ones.

He probably wouldn't make this rotation, he probably isn't as good as Silva.

I never thought Garza was good.

Well that's just stupid. He is a good pitcher. His stats say so. The argument is that he isn't worth the prospects. I don't see how you can say he isn't good.

I meant good as in significantly above average.

And no, he isn't worth the prospects.

Again we dont know what those prospects will turn out to be. We know that Garza is a MLB pitcher with potential to win 15-18 games. Only 27 and should be a Cub for while.

27=almost at peak already

We do know that Garza is a slightly above average pitcher though.
