snippet:

Final Summary: The Cubs have looked okay. If Marmol can shut down the Pirates the Cubs are 6-4 which sounds a lot better than 5-5. Woody also blew a lead to the Brewers. The Cubs have been in most the games, but haven’t won enough of them. The Cubs have a very easy April and need to go on a run here. The run of games against the NL West will show a little more of what this team is made of. Hopefully things are still positive at the end of April.

i know garza is a fly ball pitcher who pitched in a great ballpark with a good defense behind him in tampa, but I didnt think he would start like this with the cubs with balls in play.

Well the biggest reason is because he is giving up linedrives at a 40% rate.

That will come down. His peripherals are all over the place.

I would just be concerned more when it warms up. that ball may just carry a bit much

I feel like no one is giving Garza any credit. A lot of we'll see's...

Nice write up, Poods. I had no clue 2B was our high point. Shocking.

I did... I said he'd do good based on Spring alone.

excellent art, bro.

I said 2nd base productivity. kind of funny that 2B has been more productive than 3b, 1b, RF and C for us - lulz.

Its 10 games. Lets not get crazy, and Baker is taking half the AB's too.

Ya, but I said he'd be decent and he's exceeded expectations so far. Baker always hits lefties, not shocking to me.

After 10 games, the cubs have done pretty well for all the injuries that have piled up on them so far. If they can stay at or above .500 until they get healthy, I think they can contend as long as the lineup can provide decent run support.
