    Default Boxing thread

WoW Hopkins makes histroy oldest champ ever. This fight was 10x better than Mosley v Pacman. I normaly watch a lot of boxing on showtime and HBO this thread is for general boxing talk and big fights.

Hopkins looked really good so did Pascal pretty great fight.

Hopkins says he isnt gonna retire untill 50.

No Pacman won the Mosley Pacman fight. If you call it a fight Mosley looked terrible and wasn't boxing he was there just to cash a pay check.

Ya he has not aged well. The rematch vs Hopkins said it all he should of retired last year after that fight.

Yea Roys been finished for a while now. Sucks to see him get put on his back every fight

Hopkins is an old grimey scapper who youd probably have to kill to finally stop him from boxing. Dude is in great shape and is competive against anyone hes in there with.

So Hopkins title defense should be against "Bad" Chad Dawson. I have my money on Bad Chad who is my favorite light heavy weight and probably the most talented light heavy weight.

right, idk why i typed Mosley when i was thinking of Hopkins. I had Pascal in that fight,... damn, good for Hopkins, lets see for far he takes it.

Hopkins is unbelievable. The first match between Pascal and Hopkins should've been a decision for Hopkins, but he got screwed on the cards. He is one of the best counter punchers I have ever witnessed, and to go with that his boxing IQ and wits are beyond most. The fact that he can beat a champion entering his prime and in the champions country at 46 years old is just madness. To add to that, he called out Chad Dawson and Lucian Bute after the win.

I will keep watching Hopkins until he dies in the ring or retires.

I love the pushups between rounds. And I agree he should fight Dawson.

Anyone hear about Pacquiao Vs. Marquez 3? I've been saying if Pacquiao doesn't fight Mayweather next, I want Marquez to get another shot since he was robbed in their previous bouts. Marquez has been looking better than ever at his age. It goes down on November 12th.

I'm interested in this fight, but it doesn't matter who wins anyway. None of those guys have a shot at beating Ward. I think Froch wins by decision, but you can't count out the savvy vet.

Chavez Jr. is getting his first title shot on Saturday against Zbik also. Should be a good day of fights.

yes, Mayweather and Pacman, will both have bouts coming up, wich has people speculating again that MayweatherVPacman is in the works. Like Iron Mike said Id be crazy for Mayweather to step in the ring with Pacman after bein inactive for so long. So this fight is big news, really wanna see what Mayweather has. Pacman stays ready to deliver a beat down.

Mayweather Vs. Ortiz is very intriguing. A lot of people moan at nearly anyone that Mayweather fights, but Ortiz is very unpredictable right now, and so is Mayweather after yet another long hiatus from the sport. Ortiz just went in and pretty much handled an undefeated Andre Berto. I think he can present big challenges if he doesn't let Floyd's defense frustrate him.

Mayweather/Ortiz and Pacquiao/Marquez III are some really exciting fights. If both guys prevail, I could see the big showdown finally happening. But before both of them stands two hungry fighters that have shown they can win a big fight.

Mayweather is taking on a tough brawler in his first fight off a 16-month layoff. I love it. Who is Pac-Man fighting?

Oh yeah. I've been watching Alvarez closely since he popped up on the scene. He's not your average Mexican fighter, but probably better in his own way.

Did anyone catch that Alexander Vs. Mattysse fight? The decision was hometown cooking for Alexander. While he was winning the earlier rounds, Mattysse clearly landed more punches and the more effective punches. It really hurts the sport when judges gift fights. I shouldn't be surprised though, it was Don King promotions. I knew they wouldn't give Mattysse the decision, he had to win by knock out to walk out the with the win.

Haye needs to win this for the sake of the heavyweight division. The Klitschko's are a big reason for the heavyweight division being a joke for so long. Two of the best in the division vowed not to fight each other because they're kin. So basically, they feed off of everyone below them. What a good situation for both of them, right?

Another thing that pisses me off about them is that they always have to fight in their backyard. Out of Wladamir's last 10 fights, only two of them were fought outside of Germany.

Could you imagine if all the greats from other countries did this? That's like Pacquiao only fighting the vast majority of his fights in the Phillipines or Marquez in Mexico. It's cowardly. There's a big advantage fighting in your home state, let alone your home country. These guys need to get dethroned and stay there. When their era passes, maybe the Heavyweight division can get interesting again.
