i know that if your under contract, the team would have to pay a transfer fee, ontop of the players contract, but seems like Tottis contract is expiring. Hes still damn good, and starting for Roma, i dont think this wil happen. but hey, it would get me to watch em

How does everyone feel about FIFA wanting MLS to have promotion and relegation? It WON'T happen, because the contracts for owners was that they'd have a top-level team, not just a team. But what do you think of it?

Updated Standings:
Eastern Conference
Philadelphia Union 22 (13 GP)
New York Red Bulls 22 (14 GP)
Houston Dynamo 18 (15 GP)
Columbus Crew 18 (14 GP)
D.C. United 16 (13 GP)
Toronto FC 15 (16 GP)
Chicago Fire 14 (14 GP)
New England Revolution 14 (15 GP)

Sporting Kansas City 13 (13 GP)

Western Conference
Los Angeles Galaxy 31 (17 GP)
FC Dallas 25 (15 GP)
Seattle Sounders FC 22 (16 GP)
Colorado Rapids 22 (15 GP)
Real Salt Lake 21 (12 GP)
San Jose Earthquakes 19 (14 GP)
CD Chivas USA 17 (14 GP)
Portland Timbers 17 (13 GP)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC 11 (15 GP)

If the Playoffs Started Today
Eastern Conference
Philadelphia
New York
Houston
Columbus
San Jose
Western Conference
Los Angeles
Dallas
Seattle
Colorado
Salt Lake

San Jose would switch over to the Eastern Conference, unless I am mistaken, and be seeded below all Eastern Conference teams in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

FRISCO, Texas -- FC Dallas has signed veteran defender Ugo Ihemelu to a contract extension through 2015.

Terms of the deal announced Thursday weren't disclosed.

Ihemelu was acquired by FC Dallas from Colorado in 2009 and helped his hometown team reach the MLS Cup last year, when FC Dallas lost to Ihemelu's former team.

After starting his career as one of the league's top rookies with the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2005, Ihemelu was traded to the Rapids two years later.

Ihemelu has started 15 of 17 FC Dallas games this season, recording two goals and an assist. He grew up in the Dallas area and played for FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman at SMU.

TFC is throwing around some of that BMO money.

TFC sign German stalwart Frings, Dutch striker Koevermans as DPs | MLSsoccer.com

The club announced Wednesday that it has signed two new Designated Players to help right the ship in head coach Aron Winter’s first year at the helm, including longtime German national team defensive midfielder Torsten Frings.

Frings — who is best known in American soccer circles as the defender who escaped a hand ball on the goal line during Germany’s 1-0 win over the United States during the 2002 World Cup quarterfinals in South Korea — earned 79 caps with Die Mannschaft *from 2001-09, and has played with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen since 2005.

The club also announced the signing of Dutch striker Danny Koevermans, who has scored 34 goals in 91 appearances with PSV Eindhoven since 2007 and also spent prolific seasons in the Netherlands with Sparta Rotterdam and AZ Alkmaar.
