Why No Love For Houston?

Did anyone ever notice Houston gets no love in regards to anything in the sports world? Astros, Texans, Rockets are never seen on national TV broadcasts, whenever the Astros are on the road they never have a huge turnout in other parks like Yankee, Mets, Cubs, Sox, Dodgers and Angels fans do. Houston is the nation's fourth largest market but it seems like no one really ever gives a shit about Houston.

Even love for the city itself is scarce. In my area, adults my age love Chicago and to an extent New York.

Anyone have a guess or explanation on why this is?

There teams usually suck? Rocketts were good in mid 90's. Astros had some good teams 7-12 years ago. Texans have never won anything.

All true. But you have to figure that even if attendance is low, people in the area are still watching the games on TV, or so I would assume, plus like I noted earlier that its the 4th largest market in the US, so I'm sure transplants and just fans of Houston have to be out there somewhere. Idk why I care, its just something that's always irked me.

All we got this year was 1 Thursday Night game on NFL Network.

The 1-3 Jaguars have 2 Monday Night games on top of a Thursday Night Game

Houston's been overshadowed by that dolt Peyton Manning. They're starting to get some recognition this year. Hope they do well and make some noise in the playoffs.

Houston probably has more Cowboys fans than Texans fans so they don't even love their own football team. Peyton Manning has probably prevented people from jumping on that bandwagon too like Uman said.

And I think the reasons Houston teams don't get a lot of fans on road games is because they don't have a rich history or tradition that spans generations and I imagine most people from Houston stay in Houston. It's not like Chicago or New York where people often move somewhere warmer when they get older.
