And let the three headed race for GOTY begin. It'll be tough for U3 and Skyrim to beat a perfect score. God this year is so awesome for games.

I am gonna wait until next year to buy. No replay value so will wait until it goes on sell.

Just an FYI - if you wait, and you want to play any of the catwoman missions, you will have to buy the game AND buy a code to unlock her.

If you don't wait and buy the game new, the code comes with it.

    FYI

The new Batman is awesome, but you have to understand that I am a huge comic nerd... I collect over 15 different series per month. The amount of detail to re-create Batman's world is unbelieveable. I read every single unlockable I find. Hell, I've been to around 10-12 "midnight releases" at my local Gamestop, and this was BY FAR the most crowded release... the line was out the store and it was great because it wasn't just nerds... there were preppies there, a bunch of those hip-hop ***s with their straight brim hats and baggy pants, there were 3 gym rats there (literally drinking Muscle Milk in line), 2 older couples (over 50), and 5 single girls on their own.... plus the over 40+ nerds.

That said, it is basically the same game as the last one but a bigger world and the story-line is great.

/shrug With so many gaming options in the next 2+ months, if you didn't pick up Batman day one, I would just get what you want that is coming out and pick up Batman in 3-6 months when it is a lot cheaper.

    Batman > Superman
But that might flip-flop if Superman has a better year next year

From what I've seen, it's well worth $60.

I love when I see diversity like that among gaming crowds. Curious what the Skyrim crowd is going to look like.

I'm not saying it isn't but Id rather do whatever I can to save money. Plus once I beat it I probably won't end up playing it again.

Let me give you a more solid review of the game. This is all my opinions...

I'm a bit disappointed in Batman.

First of all, when you level, it doesn't really matter, just get what is fun. I say that, because the game is ridiculously easy. I'm not sure why this is considered the best melee fighter ever. Just bash X and a direction, with the occasional counter when someone is about to hit you. It's insanely easy. (Uh oh, some of the "tougher" bad guys you have to hit B or A before you hit X a bunch of times! )

Secondly, I already beat the game. Yes, I'm only 45% done with the game at the main menu, but the main storyline and a good portion of the side missions are already completed. This was not the "30 hour main quest - 50 hour entire game" type of deal that I read about in some of the reviews. While the storyline was cool and all of the little secondary shit, like background stories, press stories and art, was fun to read as a comic book dork, this game was just a clone of the first one.

Third, I thought the map/world was supposed to be huge when compared to the first one? That doesn't seem like the case to me. The world is the map you see when you first load the game. That's it. It's the same fucking size as the first one.

I was expecting more, especially after I read the reviews. This is exactly the same game as the first one (which is cool, don't get me wrong) but with all of the insanely high reviews, you'd think that they would have improved on the game. I had heard it compared to the Terminator series, where Terminator 1 was a solid move and T2 was just a mind-blowing movie. IMO, I'd switch it. Batman 1 was the mind-blowing experience, introducing me to all of these crazy gadgets and new way of looking at Batman's world, where Batman 2 was just re-doing the last game with a few more toys and a different story. The only good thing is that I can trade this in today at Gamestop for some big $$$$ so that I can buy Uncharted 3 on the cheap.

If I had to score this game on a 10 point scale, I'd give it a 7.

Are you going to consider it for your game of the year? I know you've played a lot of games this year. How does this compare to others you've played this year?

Disappointment of the year, for me.

Dark Souls, the Witcher 2, and Portal 2 are my top 3 current candidates for GotY. I believe Skyrim will also be a candidate.

    How about yourself?

Portal 2 and the Witcher 2 for sure are up there in my top 3. Haven't taken the plunge into Dark Souls yet, might not play it in 2011, same with Uncharted 3. inFamous 2 was pretty good but not really GOTY worthy. I'd give my biggest disappointment to LA Noire.

I'm banking on Skyrim for GOTY though. I just hope I don't set myself up for disappointment by buying into all the hype.

And I was thinking about buying this now too, looks like its more worth $30 to $40 then I guess lol. I have so many games to beat like Mass Effect 1,Fight Night Round 4 (bought it for like $10 new at Best Buy and have yet to play it),Gears Of War 2 and 3,Uncharted 2,and Borderlands. But the only game I really actually want to play right now is Skyrim.

Like it seems like I don't have that excitement towards games as much anymore, idk why. But Skyrim,Star Wars The Old Republic, and Diablo 3 have me really excited. And I just bought Fallout 3. Borderlands and Uncharted will probably be my top 2.
