According to Colin Cowherd, the Zook has been fired from Illinois. Can't really say this is surprising. Illini started out 6-0 this yr and now are barely bowl eligible. I wonder who they'll be trying to get.

Not surprising in the least. Their year was going extremely well, then took a nosedive really fast.

not surprising...hopefully for him he can get a coordinator job @ OSU under Meyer for a couple years, steal all his secrets, then come back to Illinois and dominate.

I wouldn't hate it if they hired Ron English.

But he's not in my top 3.

Zook tried his best to get those Florida kids up to Illinois..he succeeded for the most part, but he couldn't coach em very well. Outside the Rose Bowl appearance a few yrs ago, he hasn't really done much as a HC (Florida or Illinois). I would love to have him as the Auburn DC though. Hell of a recruiter & couldn't be any worse than Ted Roof. :lol:

He'll probably try to catch on as a DC somewhere 1st, as long as no "big-time" school offers him a HC job. I can't imagine him being unemployed next year, unless he just decides he wants to take a year off.

Per a report on the Score I heard tonight, he's accepted the Jaguars' job.

Must've known that the college jobs would be pretty slim pickings, so he's gonna wait to see what opens up after next season.
