Travis Wood sucks, not interested. Paul Maholm will be plenty and we don't have to give up anything. We'll have a plethora of nothing special starting pitchers without giving away a really good reliever.

Reds fans are pissed about trading Wood, and you guys are pissed about trading Marshall for a shitty player.

LOL.

Travis Wood has very good potential. He just hasn't put it together yet.

According to Morosi, he thinks the Reds are also interested in Marlon Byrd.

Byrd, and Marshall for Wood and a prospect is the rumored trade that I saw on another site.

Marshall should've been an All Star this year. He was one of the only bright spots on a disaster of a season. I hope they don't trade him. If they do, I hope they get something better than this in return. I hope to see #45 at Fitch in February and he better be 6'7.

I am begging Theo not to over think this and trade our best reliever for an inconsistent starter.

Unless some serious prospects come back along with Wood.

Really hope Marshall stays a Cub. One of the best lefty relievers in baseball IMHO

I'd just assume keep Marshall. Best lefty-specialist in baseball.

San Deigo got serious prospects when they traded the older, right handed Mike Adams last year. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a similar type of haul.

Now people in this thread are clearly underrating Travis Wood as a 24 year old left handed starter with a lot of upside. Don't like the flyball pitcher part, but he has a bunch of pitches. Does a decent job of making guys swing and miss, has had success at the big league level already, and has 5 years of team control. That is really, really valuable guys and would serve as a nice building block for a revamped young pitching staff that the Cubs are going to need to develop to become a contender.
