1/12 SuperDraft Thread

Who do you think we should take/will be available? Not necessarily looking for a name, but for a type of player.

I haven't been watching the kids that are available, so I'm not really too sure about them--but the GA class of 9 looks pretty healthy (by all accounts) and with the Fire having their first pick in the first 9, we will be getting some non-salary cap hitting help. And THAT is fantastic news.

In other news, Toronto is trying to offer 4th pick and some other goodies for the rights to Conde and allocation cash. What a joke. I can't wait to see what LA offers for Conde's rights--if you haven't seen this, Omar Gonzalex (their young centerback) went out on loan to Nurenbrug and TORE HIS ACL IN HIS FIRST PRACTICE WITH THEM......so they will be in the market for some solid help at CB.

As far as the Fire's immediate needs, we could use some help at LB and up top. The midfield is a bit of a quagmire with Robayo getting signed up shortly, and Marco Pappa's situation being iffy--well.....he isn't getting the offers he thought he would from Europe, and he's unsettled here and I think most of the team enjoy him as a person, but are tired of his 'i want to go to europe' song and dance.

I might actually go to the draft...still up in the air though, but it's always nice to welcome the new boys our way.

Also, a random question: Have any Fire players ever or currently been members at Section 8's forum? We had Desmond Clark on the Bears here once and I know MLB Trade Rumors had Matt Murton, former Cubs, before too. I think it'd just be pretty cool.

A few have registered, some under assumed names. It's actually cool because the Front Office also has a few folks that post/stop by to answer questions as well on occasion.

That's awesome! If a draft pick joins S8C's forum, do you think you could tell me so I can see what they say? I like quotes from players, lol.

believe it or not, many players are interactive with fans/friends on their facebook pages--that's a good place.
