We're talking about a guy who so far has shown no patience and moderate power at a position that demands offense. He can't even play defense all that well and if they try to shift him to 1B, then he doesn't have the power to stick there. The good news is he's only 21 so maybe he can still get his shit together, but at this point I'm not going to be too sad if they got rid of Vitters. I know 3B is a gaping hole now that Aramis Ramirez is gone and there's no one in the pipeline, but I imagine they'll figure out how to get someone else to plug the hole who will likely be better than Vitters.

Of course, I don't think the Red Sox should get much more than, say, Rebel Ridling.

I don't get how the Red Sox let Theo go without compensation in place. That seems like something the Cubs would do.

Javier Baez right now is better at least in terms of approach at the plate than Vitters IMO. Vitters has a terrible approach at the plate we can get a cheap free agent to give what Vitters gives you.

It isnt like he can defend either like a Matt Dominguez who is a gold glove caliber defender but is bad at the dish.
