Free preview of Center Ice this week starting tomorrow, if you need a break from some terrible Hawks hockey.

That's a minor penalty for interference and nothing more.

That hit is completely on Ericsson for not looking.

Seattle to announce a 19k seat arena tomorrow. If an NHL team were to move/established in Seattle, what might you want them to be called?

-The Seattle Jets (fitting, but damn Winnipeg)
-The Seattle Flannels
-The Seattle Emos
-The Seattle Munchkins
-The Seattle Raindrops
-The Seattle Monsoon

If the NHL can withstand/afford the liability of another year in Phoenix (or if they pony up another 25 mil) since the arena wouldn't be ready until 2015, possibly. Could be for expansion (ugh) to better balance realignment.

When will Quebec City's new one be ready?

let me guess you were reading "goodnite moon" and the "bearnstein bears" to your kids right before you brainstormed those team names. :)

I'll say this right now.

I feel like the NHL would fail in Seattle. If for any reason they do get a team, it better be by move and not expansion.

They've never been there before, have they?

I'd be curious. I know that the WHL has some teams scattered around Washington, but I have no idea what their attendance figures are like. I remember how outraged the city was when the Sonics left town, maybe they'd have an incentive to pack an arena for hockey?

To close to Vancouver. I really think the Vancouver factor would crush them.

Also, as you mentioned, they already had an NBA team leave.

Oooh yeah, good point. Forgot about that.

Although you could offer Canucks' fans a 200% less whiny and obnoxious team to cheer for with 100% less rioting ...
