I just love watching the Cubs. I like watching my favorites like Castro, Reed, Barney, Garza, but I am curious to see what Jackson and Rizzo have for us when their time comes.

Since the title of thread says opening day Rizzo and Jackson are ineligible (though they are the most exciting). Samardzjia and Volstad are the guys I am most interested in watching amongst those on the current roster. If though guys take steps to hit their ceilings, the rebuilding might take a lot less time than initially advertised. Because as we watched a decade ago with this franchise, a team with a terrible offense can be competitive if it has the pitching.
Castro is also always fun to watch. Watching him hopefully take steps forward both defensively and hitting for power to turn him into an elite level player.
