Yeah I get it and it makes sense on the business side, but...

But if they call him up, they can't send him back down without really good justification. Once he's called up, he's called up for as long as he doesn't suck at baseball. It's easier to keep him down and snag that extra year in a season with little to no expectations. You're waiting a couple months to gain an entire year. If you're into instant gratification, fine, but that's the kind of philosophy that got this team into trouble in the first place.

Yeah I do see the point and I get the whole process. But if Rizzo was called up, I would want him to stay up. Let him play through his struggles and that's how a player gets better. I think it just saves money 1 more year. But Rizzo and/or Jackson will be up by mid-June.
