seems to be a real hard hitter w/ big potential @ the plate. idc if he's a 29 year old journeyman, hitting 300+% w/ 38 homers & 130+ RBIs in a single season @ any level is respectable. hopefully he'll pan out.

note: meant to put Bryan, but Brian.

it's been said that LaHair can play LF if needed... put Rizzo @ 1B, LaHair LF?

a couple of games is not enough to convince me

but he has been good

Rizzo is a fucking monster, call him up in May! (I understand that we will be more cautious than to do that.)

Do you understand that the Cubs save money by keeping him down another month?

I didn't mean it literally, I edited while you were posting this.

He figured it out in AAA last year and deserves a chance. That's about it. If a better 1B (like, say, Carlos Pena or Derrek Lee) were still in their primes and producing, there's no room for Lahair. This team sucks and they can afford to take a chance on him, instead of doing the Hendry thing where they hope that a hot streak means consistent production when the team actually has a chance.

Lahair seems to be patient and has power. He does swing and miss a lot but punishes the ball when he gets wood on it.

I'm starting to become curious how bad LaHair would be bad in LF. LaHair could be an interesting left handed bat stashed in the 6th spot on a good lineup, but we still have to see if he can put up Matt Stairs like numbers over the course of a season.

LaHair struck out looking at an overhand curveball. Brenly said that was something to watch in Philly and Cincy. Will be interesting to see the adjustments made by opposing pitchers and LaHair makes the next few weeks. I am not expecting a 1.000 OPS all season, but I would be pretty happy with an .800 OPS player making nothing for a few years.

I like the kid(if you can call him that). I hope he has a spot on the roster when this team is in contention. He's very impressive to me so far.

He's just a really old kid. An ancient kid. A kid at a rather advanced age.
