Sveum said he will use a combination of left-hander James Russell and right-hander Rafael Dolis to close games for now.

If you're considering Russell I would try to make room and give Maine a shot at it.

OT: When was the last time a committee closer system worked? Myers, Charlton, and Dibble? Wettland and Henke?

Don't bring up Dibble in a Marmol thread. Too similar, too painful to consider haha.

I don't mind maine staying down in aaa to work on his control right now. I actually like Brett at BN suggestion of using Camp as the closer. If he could save a few games and keep the era down we might be able to flip him for something.

I don't really mind it either, but it would be my first move I guess. I was thinking about Camp, his stuff is interesting enough to try out there, and he would be a good trade piece if you could pump his value up high enough.

I don't think Dolis misses enough bats to stick.

It's not like we're winning enough games to even warrant needing a closer :smug:

Which is why it was so maddening when Marmol was extended

Dolis Delivers. Like a Boss. Clearly the closer of the future and probably already a top 5 closer in baseball.
