After reports surfaced that RB Jeff Woody & his girlfriend Brittany (on the right in the picture above) had broken up earlier in the week after she found out he slept with a Washington cheerleader after last weeks game, no one was sure how he would play vs. Michigan on Saturday. Woody happened to have the worst game of his collegiate career only rushing for 25 yds on 6 carries.

On the 1st play of the game, Tiller hooked up with Senior WR Josh Lenz for a 60 yd TD pass and this was only the beginning, as ISU went on to win the game 55-7 and continued their Big 10 dominance behind Tiller who had 405 yds, 3 TDs and also had 4 rushing TDs. This extends their winning streak to 18 games, the best in the nation.

The Cyclone Defense, who is now referring to themselves as "The Golden Gods" after rocking the rare all-gold uniforms, forced the Michigan offense into 4 turnovers & only 161 total yards of offense. They also sacked QB Denard Robinson 5 times & held RB Stephen Hopkins to 33 yds rushing on 10 carries.

During the usual post game presser, QB Jerome Tiller said that he had tweaked his hammy during the game and does not know if he can play next week vs Virginia Tech. If he cannot play, Iowa State may be in some big trouble on the road vs. the Hokies, who has 1 of the loudest stadiums in all of college football. Backup QB Steele Jantz said that he will be ready to play if necessary.

After hearing all week about Va Tech stud QB Logan Thomas, the Cyclone defense was ready to shut everyone up. Iowa State forced 5 TO's in a 42-18 road victory over the newly unranked Hokies. The game was much closer than the score indicates though. VT closed the gap to 21-18 after an early TD in the 4th Q, but 3 late TO's by the Hokie offense ended any hopes of an upset.

Despite having a hamstring injury, QB Jerome Tiller passed for 282 yds with 1 TD & 1 INT; he also rushed for 36 yds and 3 TDs. DT Cleyon Laing accounted for 2 sacks & 4 tackles while CB Jeremy Reeves had 2 INTs for the Cyclone defense. Sophomore WR Quenton Bundrage grabbed 2 passes for 107 yds, while Junior WR Keith Blanton grabbed the sole rec TD, a 79 yd bomb from Tiller in the 2nd Q.

The #7 Cyclones host arch-rival Iowa (3-1) next week at Jack Trice Stadium at 12:30pm.

Like all rivalries, you might as well just forget all the stats & records. ISU vs. Iowa was a perfect example of that as 3-1 Iowa came into Ames with upset on their mind.

Tied at 14 at halftime for the 1st time since 2010-11 for ISU, team leader & senior QB Jerome Tiller was heard screaming in the locker room "Enough is enough! I refuse to lose to this ****heads from Des Moines! This is our field, our crowd, our time to shine!", and boy did Tiller shine in the 2nd half. He scored 3 TDs on the ground for the Cyclones as Iowa State pulled out a 45-14 victory over the hated rival Hawkeyes.

After the game, Tiller was asked what he said exactly in the locker room at halftime and he just smirked and responded with "Don't worry about it." He went on to say, "I refused to lose to Iowa my senior year & let them ruin our perfect season. I refuse."

Coach Paul Rhodes said in the post game presser that he didn't even have to say a word at halftime; Tiller did it all for him.

#5 Iowa State travels north to Minneapolis next to take on the Golden Gophers at TCF Bank Stadium. Former Iowa State basketball star Royce White is rumored to be in attendance to watch his 2 former schools duke it out on the gridiron.
