The fact that Kyle Lohse and Jake Westbrook have ERAs hoovering around or under 2 without Dave Duncan confirms my belief in magic pixie dust.

I think the Cubs lose both games. First game will be a 3-0 type game. Second game will be over in the 3rd inning.

Maholm has been pretty good recently, but this series doesn't bode well. The Cards pitchers in the series have been really good. But I have faith that they won't get shut it out.

While Ian Stewart will continue to hit the ball very hard at defenders

I like first-pitch homers much more than first-pitch outs or double plays. They should do the former more than the latter.

Soriano swinging a lighter bat and drawing walks. Who is this guy?

3 consecutive half innings end with the bases loaded with no runs.

With another scoreless inning Dempster's ERA has sunk below 1 again.

Sub 1 ERA, yeah I doubt that, but he has put up some really solid seasons. Again I don't think any team is going to overspend for him right now. We are better off waiting and hoping that another team gets an injury to make them desperate.

And thanks for responding, I was starting to feel like Wrigley posting in the Fire forum :shifty:
